About Continuity Planning

Continuity planning is the effort to ensure that the capability exists to continue essential functions across a wide range of potential emergencies. Continuity planning helps Texas A&M University departments and organizations respond to a major disaster or disruption so that essential functions can continue with minimum downtime.

A continuity plan is a collection of resources, actions, procedures and information that is developed, tested and held in readiness for use in the event of a disaster or major disruption of operations. A continuity plan helps prepare Texas A&M departments and organizations maintain essential functions and return to normal operations quickly following a disaster.

Continuity Planning Workshops

Continuity planning workshops are held per request. To schedule a continuity planning workshop, please email the Business Continuity Program Coordinator. Workshops cover the following topics:

Introduction to Continuity Planning and Essential Functions

This unit provides an introduction to continuity planning and its context within Texas A&M. Participants will learn about topics such as continuity of operations, essential functions and the institutional continuity framework.

Completing Your Continuity Plan

This unit will explain each part of Texas A&M's continuity plan template and provide guidance on how to complete the worksheets. Participants of this workshop will have the opportunity to complete most of the continuity plan template for their department.
