EMPLOYEE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Employee Advisory Committee is an elected staff organization in the Division of Facilities that helps advise and
coordinate staff issues such as facilitating good communication, improving employee quality of worklife, etc. We meet
with the Vice President of this division the last Tuesday of each month to discuss and make recommendations on current
non-academic issues that help bring about positive changes for the University.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS TO DATE
- Total Compensation letters marked confidential
- Spanish speaking translator in the Human Resources, Benefits Department
- Developed Coca-Cola Scholarship for dependents of staff and faculty
- Paychecks being placed in envelopes for privacy
- Parking payment installments instituted
- Signs placed at Agronomy and F&B Road - Safety issues
- Death benefits for retirees raised
- Changes to Ireland Street to help with congestions
- Inequities in pay continue to be addressed
- Pushed for fee reduction and release time for staff taking University classes
- Wellborn Road safety issues
- Railroad track safety issues
- Hazardous-free break areas for custodial workers
- Developed Division of Administration Scholarship
- Wells Fargo ATM drive-through on West Campus
- Year-to-date information on checks
- Placement of Automatic defibrillators in University Police cars
- Spence Street/University Drive intersection changed to allow left-hand turn for pedesterian safety
