Texas Bound
8 by 8: Stories by Texas Writers, Read by Texas Actors
Produced by Kay Cattarulla
Directed by Randy Moore
Hosted by Tess Harper

"Texas Bound Contains some bang-up stories people will enjoy reading—and hearing. For the special nature of this collection is that eight of the stories are also available on audiotapes. It's a real treat, for example, to hear Tommy Lee Jones reading Larry McMurtry's ‘There Will Be Peace in Korea' or William Goyen's actress-widow, Doris Roberts, reading her husband's grand ‘The Texas Principessa.'"—Don Graham

"An immediate hit."—Dallas Morning News

"A treat for the ear."—Austin American Statesman

"Great voices give life to great words."—Fort Worth Star-Telegram

"Something to lure even the most ascetic bibliophile into a night of in dulgence."—D Magazine

Texas Bound: 8 by 8 consists of two 90-minute audiocassette tapes containing eight stories read live by Texas actors at the Dallas Museum of Art as part of the literary series "Art and Letters Live."

The following stories and eleven others are included in Texas Bound: 19 Texas Stories, the companion book, also available from SMU Press.

"Texas Bound—readings of Texas stories by Texas actors—seems to me a wonderful idea and should by obligatory reading and listening for anyone interested in the increasingly impressive output of Texas writers."—Horton Foote
