Winedale Press Books
Winedale Publishing, an independent publisher, announced new
releases when founded in 1996 until 2005. Their excellent list of
literary fiction and creative non-fiction remains available at
booksellers or directly from Texas A&M University Press Consortium.

In 2004 a new Leon Hale collection entitled OLD FRIENDS was
released that contains a selection of columns published since his
bestselling HOME SPUN, together with a few favorites from out of
print books. Among them are "The Chamber of Commerce Bull"
and "Miracles Out of a '22 Chevy" from ONE MAN'S CHRISTMAS.

Among books published were THE FOOL'S JOURNEY, a novel by
Austin professor Lynn C. Miller; and HIS PROSTATE AND ME, by
Desiree Lyon Howe, a medical memoir packed with helpful
information for couples dealing with prostate cancer.

HIS PROSTATE AND ME, Dee Howe's memoir of her husband's
and her successful fight to overcome the side effects of prostate
cancer treatment, received excellent responses from readers,
as well as from distinguished review sources, including Family
Urology and the New York Times "Books on Health" column, in
which John Langone wrote: "Ms. Howe deftly answers questions
about prostate cancer and also examines the cancer's effect on
a marriage, providing insight into the role women can play to help
the men they love."

In a different vein, Lynn Miller's funny and wise FOOL'S JOURNEY
also garnered generous praise from reviewers:

"A perfectly pitched, dead-on satire of academic manners that is
articulate, fabulously funny, and abounds in incisive
observations."—Orlando Sentinel

"The writings about (Edith) Wharton breathe fresh air into this
wickedly funny story."—Dallas Morning News

"A rollickingly satiric whole . . ."—"Read of the Week," Austin
Statesman

"A smart, satiric send-up of the Machiavellian world of ivory tower
passions and politics."—Booklist

Other worthy titles on Winedale's backlist are several by current
O. Henry Prize Series editor Laura Furman, including the much
acclaimed collection, DRINKING WITH THE COOK; her memoir,
ORDINARY PARADISE; and two novels, TUXEDO PARK, and
THE SHADOW LINE, a literary mystery set in Houston.

Winedale's backlist also features the critically acclaimed
Diane Cole's AFTER GREAT PAIN—a deeply affecting
memoir of loss and renewal—along with regional bestsellers
like Leon Hale's SUPPER TIME.

Winedale's individual website (www.winedalebooks.com) gives
details about these and all their books, which are available from
bookstores nationwide, as well as directly from this consortium.
