Texas Women
Frontier to Future
Ann Fears Crawford and Crystal Sasse Ragsdale
In Texas Women the authors, who have been researching the world of
women in the Lone Star State for over thirty years, continue their
documentation of the heritage and influence of Texas' pioneering
women by presenting biographies of twenty-four noted women of Texas,
from the nineteenth-century writer Jane Cazneau to twentieth-century
politician Kay Bailey Hutchinson.

The late ANN FEARS CRAWFORD wrote several books on Texas
history including Women in Texas, also with Crystal S. Ragsdale. She
spent much of her time lecturing to women's groups, teachers, and
librarians on the history, lives, and accomplishments of women in the
Lone Star State. CRYSTAL SASSE RAGSDALE, a research historian
and authority on 19th-century Texas, is the author of Women and
Children of the Alamo and Women in Texas, both by State House Press,
and has also served on numerous editorial boards of organizations
around the Lone Star State.
What people are saying about this book
"I cannot think of a more appropriate tribute to any women, Texas
women in particular, than Crawford and Ragsdale have written. Their
sense of 'a story' directs their substantial research into a readable
and informative portrait of their subjects. . . . a job well done."Jane
L. Bouterse, Writers at Work
"Texas Women is a delight."The Brazosport Facts
"Clear, enjoyable, and readable."East Texas Historical Association
