"Annette Sanford writes of the small worlds of rural
Texas, of everyday lives, joy and sorrow. Lasting
Attachmentsis one of the best collections of the 1980s."
—W. P. Kinsella
"Sanford's spare and evocative short stories . . . offer
love illimitable as a luminous possibility."—New York Times
Book Review,
"Sanford writes clearly and simply about . . . familiar
situations—births, deaths, and the things ordinary people
experience in the interim. This literary pudding is proof
that a reader's heart feasts . . . on shared truths express-
ed in simple language."—Southern Living
"In this lovely, well-crafted collection, Sanford's
eleven stories reflect the difficulties and blessings of
family members sharing time, knowledge, and grief."—Booklist
