Trademark Licensing at Texas A&M

Licensing Guidelines Recognized Student Organizations

Recognized Student Organizations are allowed to use Texas A&M trademarks/logos on products under the following guidelines:

  1. Have the design approved by the Office of Trademark Licensing prior to production.
  2. Have the products produced or made by a licensed company.
  3. Seek advance written approval by the Office of Trademark Licensing to use the University's trademarks/logos on commercial products or service promotions.

Recognized Student Organizations can be royalty exempt if the products being made are sold to the membership only, bear the name of the organization, and are not sold to a third party. The Student Organization may obtain a Royalty Waiver Form from the Office of Trademark Licensing on behalf of the licensee producing or making the products.

When such products are sold as fundraisers to the general public the licensee will be required to make contracted royalty payments.

More information on the policies of Trademark Licensing can be found at the Texas A&M University rules page 09.02.99.M1.
