Research Environment Council
Purpose:
To advise the President and the Executive Vice President and
Provost on all aspects of research in support of Vision 2020 goals. The
Council will advise on items including but not limited to the following.
- Plans and actions for new opportunities for success in
external funding, especially from federal and industrial sources.
- Plans for expansion of technology transfer and venture capital
investments that will enhance research development at Texas A&M
University, and in the local community.
- Communication of the importance and impact of Texas A&M
University's research to diverse constituencies.
- Plans for close collaboration between agencies, the
University, and the Research Foundation.
- Plans for research that recognize and incorporate the
recommendations from the new councils on finance, education and the
built environment.
