These are only a few of the traits the PPIP is looking for in its
applicants. Certainly grades matter, but PPIP interns are selected
not only on their academic achievements. They are also chosen based
on their ability to demonstrate the potential to take full advantage
of the program and the desire to serve our state and our nation
in the public policy sector. Learn more about the program and to

Program
Eligibility
Undergraduate
students of any major and discipline in good standing with the University
are eligible for the PPIP program. TAMU graduate students are also
welcome to apply, but are accepted on a limited basis. To be considered
you must:
- Be a U.S.
citizen, permanent residents are not eligible.
- Be a student
in good standing at TAMU.
- Be enrolled
at Texas A&M and have at least 60 hours (including transfer)
by the semester of your internship. A minimum of 15 hours must
have been received while in residence at TAMU.
- Maintain
at least a 3.0 overall GPR on a 4.0 scale. Students with 2.8-2.9
GPRs will be considered on a limited basis, but are required
to submit an additional statement regarding grades and require
an additional letter of recommendation.
- December graduates are eligible! Graduating
seniors may apply to intern the long semester following graduation,
i.e. December grads for a spring internship. May graduates for
summer or fall internships.
- Students are required to have valid health insurance during
their internship.
