Donor Family Meets Recipient Family
The family of Matthew McGill met the recipient of his heart, Lee Hambrick, on Monday, September 23, 2003, at the Hilton Hotel in College Station. The picture below shows Lee meeting Matthew’s mother, Wanda McGill, for the first time. Lee is on the left and Wanda is on the right.

Laura wrote about two other families affected by organ and tissue donation in this story: http://www.theeagle.com/brazossunday/092803organdonor.htm
The meeting of the two families kicked off the year-long TAMU Organ
Donation Education Campaign, a $1.5 million grant funded by the Division of Transplantation. Michael T. Stephenson, assistant professor in the Department of Communication at Texas A&M, is co-investigator on the grant.
Through June 2004, we will be sponsoring tables monthly to provide TAMU faculty, staff, and students with a chance to sign an organ donor card. Our first table event was held on Tuesday, September 24, 2003, in the Blocker Building at in the Memorial Student Center at the TAMU campus. Below are two pictures from the student center gathering.
