As part of the development of the Texas A&M Web presence, new template design is part of the process. Our goal is to create a wide variety of easy-to-implement Web site templates that provide clean, valid and accessible HTML code as well as advanced CSS files to make site and page maintenance easier.
Each template is complete with HTML, CSS, and related support files and provided as a ZIP file. Web Services can modify current template and design new templates for on-campus clients as part of building its template library.
New templates will be added here on a regular basis.
Experiences such as the shooting at Virginia Tech show that we need to be prepared for an emergency on campus and the accompanying spike in bandwidth usage as people look for answers. One of the primary needs in these cases is a "lite" version of the site which is small and quick to download. This template is what we are using for the university website in such a case.
This template works well for sites with depth as the main navigation is horizontal. Code is provided for quick links or alternate navigation and the photo banners can be set to a single image or a rotation of multiple images.
This template is one where the visuals are as important as the content. The maroon and gray color, the simple white navigation and the emphasis on bold imagery is key. Inside pages continue that idea with equal space given to imagery and content. This would be ideal for a program, an event or smaller organization.
This template is based on the president and provost page templates. It uses a darker color pallete than many of the others, but features rounded corners to help soften the harshness of the color.
This template is based on the old university home page. For those who want to keep the gray-and-marooon classic look this allows you to do so while keeping up with the university branding effort.
