More than 8,500 graduate students at Texas A&M develop individual programs tailored to their research interests, ranging from nuclear engineering to plant breeding to international affairs and hundreds of programs in between.
Texas A&M offers a comprehensive selection of more than 240 master's and Ph.D. degree programs and the only doctor of veterinary medicine program in the state. Numerous programs have attained national recognition by the National Research Council and top rankings by U.S. News & World Report and other organizations. Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education ranks Texas A&M 10th in doctoral degrees awarded to Hispanics.
Classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a "Doctoral/Research University—Extensive," Texas A&M consistently ranks in the top tier in research expenditures, with more than $570 million. Graduate students have access to five libraries containing almost 4 million volumes, 300,000 e-books, and hundreds of databases in all subject areas.
The more than 3,000 graduate faculty include winners of the Nobel Prize, Wolf Prize, Pulitzer Prize, National Medal of Science and members of the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering and Institute of Medicine. More than 500 hold the title of fellow or a title of equal significance in their respective fields.
