Branch Campuses

Texas A&M operates two branch campuses and two overseas centers.

Texas A&M University at Galveston, with an enrollment of about 1,700, offers 10 marine-oriented bachelor's degrees and a master's in marine resources management. The campus opened in 1964, and degrees are awarded from Texas A&M University. The Texas Maritime Academy, one of six seacoast maritime academies in the U.S., provides an opportunity for students to learn how to operate and maintain an ocean-going vessel. At the conclusion of the program, graduates can become licensed as officers in the U.S. Merchant Marine or serve in the U.S. Naval Reserve or U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.

In 2003, Texas A&M and the country of Qatar entered into an agreement to bring Texas A&M's top-ranked engineering programs to the Persian Gulf Region by establishing a branch campus, funded by the Qatar Foundation. Today, Texas A&M University at Qatar enrolls nearly 200 engineering students from more than 20 countries and recently moved into one of the largest and most advanced engineering education facilities in the world.

Texas A&M also operates two overseas centers in Mexico City, Mexico and Santa Chiara, Italy, which serve students, faculty and researchers year around.
