Applying to the TAMU History
Graduate Program
The Graduate Studies Admissions Committee in
the Department of History considers applications once each
year during the spring semester. Applicants must have all
materials (application, GRE scores, transcripts, and reference
letters) submitted by February 1. If you wish to be considered
for a fellowship or assistantship, please have all materials
to us by January 1. Accepted applicants should plan to enroll
in the fall semester, but may delay their matriculation for up
to one year from admission. For more detailed information on
how to apply to the graduate program,
The department encourages applicants to
visit the campus if possible to meet faculty members and
graduate students and to discuss plans with a graduate
advisor. For applicants with distinguished records, some
recruitment travel grants may be available. Please inquire
about this opportunity before January 15. To arrange a visit,
or for any other questions, please call the history department
at (979-845-8277) or you may email the Walter Kamphoefner,
Director of Graduate Studies (waltkamp@tamu.edu)
or David Hudson, Associate Director of Graduate Studies (david-hudson@tamu.edu).
