Lauren Clay specializes on the social and
cultural history of modern France. She received her Ph.D. from
the University of Pennsylvania in 2003, and is currently
writing a book on professional theater and the
commercialization of culture in eighteenth-century France and
the colonies. She teaches courses on the Enlightenment, modern
France, nineteenth-century Europe, and modern world history. |
