Current Research Projects:
I am currently invovled with developing a number of tools that will be used to study the baculouvirus protein E26.  T7 and HIS tagged E26 recombinant viruses are being constructed.  These should futher elucidate the trafficking of E26 and may give us our first clues to its cellular equivalents, the SMAPs (Sorting Motif Associated Proteins)

I am also developing tools to study E25, the only known baculovirus occulusion derived virus envelope protein that does not contain the characteristic charged amino acids in its sorting motif.  How this difference effects E25 trafficking is of interest.  We hope to discover if E25 interacts with the same players during trafficking, and if not, what proteins it does interact with.
