POST-CONFERENCE TOUR AND ATTRACTIONS

Rajasthan Tourist Map

Jaipur, popularly known as, ‘pink city’, is the largest and one of the most beautiful cities in India. The city is remarkable among pre-modern Indian cities, founded on 18th November 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The architectural glory of Jaipur never fails to impress a traveler who is ready to delve into the rich past of the country. The majestic forts, havelis (grand private mansions), monuments, and palaces are the reason why you should be in Jaipur for a vacation. There are interesting places to visit that are rich in history and reflecting the Rajputana heritage of the country. Major tourist attractions of Jaipur are: Amber Fort and Amber Palace, Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Central Museum, Jantar Mantar (astronomical observatory). Besides these attractions, in Jaipur, a number of tour packages are also available to other cities in Rajasthan, that include, Udaipur (the lake city), Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Ranthambore, Sariska, and the adjoining States of Delhi (Capital of India) and Agra (the famous Taj Mahal).

The winter months of December-January are mild and pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from 15–18 °C and with little or no humidity. There are however occasional cold waves that lead to temperatures near freezing. The city is well connected from all major cities of India through Air, Rail and Road.

Rajasthan Haveli

Nahargarh Fort

Jantar Mantar

Jaigarh Fort

A tourist desk will be provided during the conference for sight-seeing around Jaipur city and other tourist attractions. You may write to the conference organizers about your plans during ICSSD 2012 or you may plan your own trip. Whatever actual charges will be borne by the delegate and may be paid directly to the specified tourist agent.
