First draft of
prescription drug project.
Draft should contain preliminary information on:
1. the physiology of the condition or disease
2. the medical consequences of no treatment –
what are the risks?
3. the enzymes, enzyme or protein involved in
the condition or disease
4. the normal biochemistry of the enzymes,
enzyme or protein involved
5. the chemistry of the drug
6. the biochemistry of the drug
7. some assessment of its efficacy and
cost-benefit ratio
Use the first draft to decide what extra
information you need for the second draft.
grading rubric:
The draft should be well written and
edited. This is a team effort and each
team member is responsible for the final product.
10 points:
a good, coherent and well-edited description that mentions all 7
points. Clear evidence that it is a
group, not an individual, effort.
8 points:
a less-well edited description. Mentions all the points. Evident that
group effort is lacking.
6 points:
a poorly worded and poorly edited draft that lacks some of the
information. Evident that group effort is lacking.
