COMMITTEE
The Campus Master Plan Steering Committee Charge
"The last campus Master Plan was completed in April 1990. Since
that time, significant developments are leading the University
toward a clear and exciting vision for the future. Most notably,
Vision 2020, SACS re-accreditation and the recent strategic planning
efforts provide a focus for the next twenty years and beyond. The
physical campus must be adapted to accommodate and facilitate the
vision.
"It is timely to create a new campus Master Plan that will reflect
all phases of the University's mission and vision, with particular
emphasis on the effectiveness of the learning environment and the
support of teaching, research and service. A consultant who specializes
in campus master planning will be hired to conduct the research,
analyze the needs and prepare the actual document(s).
"This committee is asked to define the scope of work and create
a Statement of Work for the consultant. This Scope of Work will
outline the parameters and priorities for the consultant's work,
provide background information, guidance regarding selection of
data sources and other critical inputs, and desired timelines.
The committee will select the consultant and provide oversight,
feedback and guidance as needed to the consultant during the process.
Finally, the committee will, upon satisfaction with the final Master
Plan, recommend acceptance of the plan to University administration."
