Here are a few internet sites relating to my teaching and research interests:
- Robertson County TexasGenWeb Site
The Robetson County TexasGenWeb Site is loaded with historical and genealogical information relating to Robertson County, Texas. Even though this site may already be one of the most comprehensive in the state, the Robertson County Historical Commission, public-spirited individuals, such as Kent Brunett, and local companies and businesses are constantly working to bring even more information online. As a result, in July 2002, Robertson County became the first of Texas's original counties (created in 1837) to have all its available handwritten census records online.
To access a hidden link on this site to "Assorted Information on African
Americans in Robertson County History" where one can read about, for
example, former
slave Hattie Cole's recollections of life during her enslavement on the Ebenezer
Hearne plantation,

- The American Civil War
Homepage The American Civil War Homepage gathers together in one place
hypertext links to the most useful identified electronic files
about the American Civil War (1861-1865).
-
Civil War Soldiers & Sailors System
The Civil War Soldiers & Sailors System
website is a computerized database
containing basic facts about servicemen who served on both sides during the
American Civil War.
- The
Valley of the Shadow: Two Communities in the American Civil War
The
Valley of the Shadow is an electronic archive of two communities
in the American Civil War--Augusta County, Virginia, and Franklin County,
Pennsylvania. The Valley Web site includes searchable newspapers,
population census data, agricultural census data, manufacturing census data,
slaveholder census data, and tax records. The site also contains letters
and diaries, images, maps, church records, and military rosters. The
project is a University of Virginia research project funded in part by the
National Endowment of the Humanities.
