Graduate Certification Programs
The Bush School Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security consists of 15 credit hours of web-based, distance education instruction surveying the dimensions of homeland security and defense. The program of study is designed for individuals with present or anticipated management responsibilities at various levels of government, business or the military. After a required gateway seminar, students select from a menu of courses dealing with such topics as protection of critical infrastructure, coping with WMD terrorism, inter-government coordination, and business strategies for protection and recovery. All students complete their program of study with research inquiry and a paper on an aspect of homeland security of particular concern to them. These courses are available only online and are not offered in residence. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent may be admitted to graduate study at Texas A&M University specifically for this certificate or may apply if they currently are enrolled in a graduate degree program at the University.
