Readmission to Graduate Studies
(A student who has previously enrolled in Graduate Studies at Texas A&M University.)
- A returning graduate student (G7, G8, G9) who has attended Texas A&M University within the past 12 months will not have to submit an application for readmission.
- A returning graduate student (G7, G8, G9) who has not attended Texas A&M for a period of over one year but not more than three years and who is not within one year of the seven-year limit on master’s or the 10-year limit on doctoral programs will be readmitted by the Office of Admissions unless blocked by the department, college or the Office of Graduate Studies on SIMS screen 10.
- An application from a returning graduate student (G7, G8, G9) who has not attended Texas A&M within the past three years and/or who is within one year of the seven-year limit for master’s or the 10-year limit for doctoral programs will be sent to the respective departments for approval before the student is readmitted.
- An application from a returning student who has not attended Texas A&M for one semester or more and who was classified as G6 when last enrolled will be forwarded to the respective department for approval. A G6 student in a certification program, however, will not have to reapply if he/she has attended Texas A&M within the preceding year.
- The department, college, or Office of Graduate Studies is responsible for placing academic or administrative blocks on screen 10 of SIMS. Screen 10 will be checked by Graduate Admissions before a student is readmitted.
