International Admission Status

An applicant from another country seeking admission to graduate studies must meet the same requirements for admission as applicants from the United States namely. In addition, he or she must demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Prospective students whose native language is not English may take either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System test (IELTS). Both exams are offered at locations around the world. Applications for these exams together with additional information about these examinations may be found on their websites. TOEFL information may be obtained via the website www.ets.org/toefl and IELTS from the website www.ielts.org. Currently the TOEFL is offered in more than 200 locations around the world and the IELTS is offered in more than 400 world-wide venues. All applicants from non-English speaking countries must present a TOEFL score of at least 213 computer-based or an IELTS score of at least 6.0 to be admitted to graduate studies.
