603. Neuropsychopharmacology. (4-0). Credit 4.

Interaction of drugs and toxins with neurotransmitter systems; emphasis on mechanisms involving receptor function that impact central nervous system. Prerequisites: Approval of coordinator.

605. Molecular Mechanisms of Drug and Toxin Action I. (4-0). Credit 4.

Introduction to the major tools and concepts of pharmacology; selectivity of drug action determined by pharmacological principles; scientific basis for a rational approach to the study of drug actions and side effects. Prerequisite: Approval of coordinator.

606. Molecular Mechanisms of Drug and Toxin Action II. (4-0). Credit 4.

Introduction to drug receptor interaction theory, concepts of agonist, antagonist, affinity and efficacy, and molecular signaling mechanisms; overview of toxicants and of toxicity including carcinogenesis and endocrine disruption; survey of ocular drugs. Prerequisite: Approval of coordinator.

607. Molecular Mechanisms of Drug and Toxin Action III. (4-0). Credit 4.

Interaction of drugs and toxins with neurotransmitter systems; emphasis on mechanisms involving receptor function that impact central nervous system integration. Prerequisite: Approval of instructor.

923. Medical Pharmacology I. (3-0). Credit 3.

General concepts of pharmacological agents and substances; pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics; autonomic drugs; ocular pharmacology and cardiovascular pharmacology. Prerequisites: Admission to medical curriculum or MANA 922; MBCH 911 or approval of department head; MPHY 901.

924. Medical Pharmacology II. (4-3). Credit 4.

Continuation of MPHM 923; anesthetics; neuro-psychopharmacology; analgesics; chemotherapy, endocrine pharamcology; autacoids; drug abuse and medical toxicology. Prerequisite: MPHM 923.
