Outdoor Education Institute
The Outdoor Education Institute is a part of the Department of Health and Kinesiology in the College of Education and Human Development. The Institute’s primary function is to facilitate the education of people interested in the use of the out-of-doors for experiential education. This function is achieved through the Challengeworks program, special workshops and trips. All institute programs are experiential. They take place outdoors and are based on the premise that people learn best by doing. The institute attempts to integrate both the adventure and environmental branches of outdoor education.
The Outdoor Education Institute offers customized outdoor experiential learning programs for a wide variety of groups (including those outside of the University). For more information, please contact the Outdoor Education Institute located in Room 240, G. Rollie White Coliseum at (979) 845-4574, or via email at bgantt@tamu.edu.
