Orientation
Howdy Camp
Howdy Camp is a unique and exciting orientation experience geared to meet the needs of students who enter Texas A&M in the spring semester. Through discussion groups, a social mixer, and other programs, new students are introduced to the many opportunities available at Texas A&M. The purpose of Howdy Camp is to facilitate new friends; spur leadership qualities; illustrate the history, traditions and growing diversity of Texas A&M and alleviate any anxieties about attending a large university.
Packed into two fun, event-filled orientation days, Howdy Camp is led by counselors, co-chairs and a coordinator staff who were once incoming students themselves. These students were chosen because of their dedication to helping new students feel as comfortable as possible, while being excited about all that Texas A&M has to offer. This student-staff serves as a resource to new students before, during and after camp.
