Course Credit
Departmental Examinations for Entering Freshmen and Currently Enrolled Students
Qualified entering freshmen may take departmental tests the day before their New Student Conferences prior to initial enrollment at Texas A&M. Entering freshmen and currently enrolled students can also take the exams throughout the year. Contact Measurement and Research Services for registration information. The tests are prepared by participating Texas A&M departments. Check the Credit by Examination brochure for eligibility requirements.

- PHYS 201, 202, 208, 218, 219
- POLS 206, 207
- Foreign Languages
(up to four semesters of course work in French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian and Spanish)
Please note these regulations concerning credit by examination:
- Test scores and/or credit eligibility must be reported formally to Measurement and Research Services for credit by examination to be awarded. Credit is posted to the academic record once appropriate scores are received by Measurement and Research Services and the student has officially enrolled in the University.
- Students may not receive credit by examination for courses that are prerequisites to courses for which they already have credit except with the approval of the department authorizing the examination.
- A student may not have credit posted for credit by examination for a course in which he or she is currently registered or has acquired a grade other than Q, W or NG.
