Curriculum in Information and Operations Management

The B.B.A. degree in Information and Operations Management (INFO) offers a broad range of career opportunities. Students develop the knowledge necessary to plan and organize decision making and to communicate effectively in work settings that demand analytical and computer-aided solutions. This degree program affords the student maximum choice flexibility of jobs, industries and organizations influenced by rapidly changing technologies.

Tracks in Information and Operations Management. INFO majors must select a set of courses within a track. A list of desirable track courses is available from the Department of Information and Operations Management undergraduate advisor (Room 319, Wehner Building).

Management Information Systems Track. The Management Information Systems (MIS) track addresses the impact of computer-based information systems in a variety of organizational settings. An MIS track student learns to analyze, design and implement information systems required by diverse business activities. The demand for professionals capable of dealing with complexities of modern business organizations and advanced computer systems is widespread.

Supply Chain Management Track. The students of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) track study the flow of products and information from raw material suppliers, through operations, to the final customer. Students gain a solid background in procurement, distribution and operations management, and in numerous information technologies such as electronic business and enterprise resource planning. The demand for professionals in this area is rapidly growing as firms are incorporating information technology into their domestic and global operations.
