Multicultural Services
The Department of Multicultural Services
enhances the personal and academic success of students by preparing
them to lead in a multicultural world. We work with campus partners
to create and sustain a living, learning and working community
that is inclusive and responsive to diversity and facilitates success.
The Department provides several leadership
opportunities for students including ExCEL Student Success Program;
Southwestern Black Student Leadership Conference; MEDALS high school
program; U-ACT peer diversity facilitators; Whoopstock Unity Festival
and Ambassadors, which are student representatives for the Department.
The Department houses cultural support
student organizations including the Hispanic Presidents' Council;
African American Student Coalition, and Asian Presidents' Council.
Department services include a resource
library of multicultural books, videos, and articles available
for checkout; information on scholarships, internships and fellowships;
credited seminars on issues related to social justice and diversity.
The Department of Multicultural Services
is an excellent resource for ALL students. We believe that it is
important to celebrate differences while uniting as an Aggie family.
